Nice friendly service best in the area . Very creative to keep open during the pandemic alway hot fresh food and prompt service . Good prices too prefer it over the one next to Walmart and in millers creek

I treated myself to my first Chinese food in seven months during Covid - haven't left the house. This place used to be popular, but today there were no other orders there except for mine. They were going the distance with a plexiglass door way and a window to receive orders. I'm saddened that such a decent restaurant doesn't have more customers when they are trying so hard. I give the people from the restaurant and the food a thumbs up... and anyone who's started avoiding Chinese food because of Covid a thumbs down.

It is not the best in the world but it is the best Chinese place in Wilkes.

I do not recommend this restaurant at all. I typically love this type of food so decided to try Shanghai Express. We ordered the sesame shrimp and lobster sauce shrimp. To start with , the sesame shrimp was heavily breaded and shrimp tasted funny...funny like spoiled. I decided not to eat it. I typically also love stir fried vegetables but the broccoli in this dish looked old and unappetizing. I did not eat that either. The only redeeming thing about the meal was the rice and egg roll. The rest got thrown out. The other lobster sauce shrimp just looked weird. There were clear bubble like things in the food...I have no idea what that was. The peas and carrots in it were even unedible and not even cooked. In my opinion, look elsewhere for Chinese food

I've eaten at dozens of Chinese restaurants all over including San Francisco Chinatown (the best) and Los Angeles Chinatown (worked in the rail yard right next door) so I can't say Shanghai Express is the best however they are very good and without a doubt the best in Wilkes County. I get takeout there at least once a week.

I eat @ Shangi express often. They have the best egg rolls ever. I have always been completely satisfied. The couple that own it are the nicest people you'll ever meet.

I moved away for three years and as soon as I moved back of course I returned to Shanghai Express which is awesome
